    Miriama Cribb is Te Ātihaunui-ā-Pāpārangi, Ngāti Pikiao, Ngāti Porou and Ngāti Tama, but is most active at her home in Whanganui. Miriama is completing a PhD in Management at Massey University, looking at implementing Indigenous frameworks in non-Indigenous organisations, using Te Awa Tupua as her case study. She also works part time as a researcher at Te Atawhai o Te Ao Research Institute in Whanganui. Her research interests are in Māori management and Māori business, organisational studies, and social and governance structures that advance hapū and iwi aspirations.

    Matthew Roskruge (Te Atiawa, Ngāti Tama) is codirector of Te Au Rangahau and a Senior Lecturer in the School of Economics and Finance. He has an academic background in health and population economics, and researchers broadly as an applied economist and social scientist. His current research projects include:

    Te Hononga: Modelling Indigenous Collaborative Enterprise

    What are the bases for Māori enterprise collaboration? How do Māori activate Indigenous entrepreneurial capabilities for collaboration and what forms do Māori enterprise collaborations take?

    By exploring Māori enterprise collaboration as a fundamental but challenging strategy for Māori economic development, this project identifies principles and models which can inform Māori and non-Māori about enterprise collaboration. It does this by using mātauranga Māori, kaupapa Māori, tikanga Māori and te reo Māori, as well as considerations of non-Māori principles, practices and technologies for enterprise collaboration.

    Kerensa is the Chief Executive of Wakatū Incorporation, a hapū-owned organisation based in Whakatū (Nelson), which owns Kono NZ LP, an export food and beverage business; AuOra, focused on science and nutrition and Whenua, its land and property business. Committed to its 500 year intergenerational plan, Te Pae Tawhiti, Wakatū has an active social and cultural development arm which is committed to building whānau capability and innovation as well as achieving the Te Tau Ihu intergenerational strategy for the region, which includes constitutional reform.

    Kerensa has a legal background and has worked as a solicitor in the private sector, as a Barrister, and as a legal academic at the Faculty of Law, University of Auckland, where she specialised in Māori legal development, public law, land law and international law. Kerensa joined Wakatū as General Counsel in December 2012, and was appointed Chief Executive in 2016.

    Kerensa is also the Chair of Ngāti Tama ki te Tau Ihu Charitable Trust. She is a member of the International Association of Corporate Counsel, Corporate Lawyers’ New Zealand and Te Hunga Roia.
