The purpose of this summer internship project is to conduct an extensive search and review of literature relating to the constructs ‘wairua’ and ‘mauri’.
In particular, the project aims to identify sources highlighting definitions and experiences of both wairua and mauri, as well as literature that speaks to how the constructs are differentiated. The literature review resulting from this project will form the basis of a manuscript overviewing findings of a study investigating the experiences of wairua of a Māori sample. The literature review from this project will also form the basis of a separate manuscript that speaks to how wairua and mauri are differentiated from a Māori perspective, and the implications of these constructs for psychological practice in Aotearoa New Zealand.
